気が付く = to be aware of
気を付ける = to care about

So in this case it should be "が".

"Als je kaas wilt verkopen in Japan moet hij vers zijn en niet te goedkoop."

How did you guys translate this?
I wasn't sure about how you say "has to be fresh"

I was thinking "日本でチーズを売りたいなら、新しくて、あまり安くないのがいいです。

Any other input?

"日本でチーズを売りたければ、新しくて、あまり安くないのが必要です。"
"日本でチーズを売りたかったら、新しくて、あまり安くないのが必要です。"

"たい” is an i-adjective, so no "なら". But I think I would go for the 2nd one. Because it is the slight possibility of doing so. And seeing as it says "must" in stead of "it would be better", I'd use "必要". As for fresh, maybe "新鮮" is better. Looked it up with jisho.org. When using 新しい it really implies new, and it's a different meaning than fresh. Or "腐っていない" (腐る/くさる), I think it came up in one of the word lists one time, meaning rotten, or in this case not rotten.

And Jord, I will try to look into your 会話 tomorrow, if I find the time.

I think "売りたいなら" should be OK, because it's used a lot (see Google).

But good idea about the "必要です", it comes closer to the meaning of the original sentence than what I had.

Just because something is used a lot does not automatically mean it`s correct Wink
Especially with exams, I suggest sticking to what do you know is correct, or just first check with the japanese girls if it can be used =)

売りたいなら is a LOT more used than 売りたければ (5x as much), so you can assume that it is correct grammar.

But I'd still prefer the 売りたかったら, unless it's used as a response to someone who is pretty determined to do so and you want to give some sort of advice instead of just a general opinion.

(or at least, that's how I see it Razz)
